Comparison

It was also cold today.
I misunderstood the meaning of "chilly".
I thought "chilly is colder than "cold". It was wrong.
When the sun goes down and you feel a little bit cold,
you can say "chilly".
We can use cool, chilly, cold and freezing in cold order.

"cold enough to make you feel uncomfortable"とあります。

I check the meaning of "chilly" in my dictionary.
It says,
"cold enough to make you feel uncomfortable".

"weather that is nippy is cold enough that you need a coat"

It is also used "nippy".
My e-dictionary says,
"weather that is nippy is cold enough that you need a coat".

I see.
I could see other words express "cold".
biting, snappy, frosty, etc.

I also heard "brass monkey" for much colder day.

Today is, lets see...., nippy?
